The state-owned Sanmenjiang Forest Farm in Guangxi was established in 1951 and is a second-class public welfare institution directly under the autonomous region. The total operating area of the forest farm is 1.1 million mu, with forest land spanning across Guangxi and Guangdong provinces, and a forest volume of 6.75 million cubic meters. By the end of 2021, it has achieved a total asset of 6 billion yuan. It is one of the top ten forest farms in China, a national green model unit, a national oil tea technology demonstration base, one of the first batch of magnificent forest farms in Guangxi, a top ten demonstration base for the oil tea industry in Guangxi, a top ten demonstration nursery for the oil tea industry in Guangxi, a good variety of oil tea harvesting nursery in Guangxi, a leading enterprise in modern forestry in Guangxi, and an advanced collective awarded the Guangxi Forestry Ecological Construction Outstanding Contribution Award.
In recent years, forest farms have utilized under-story space and actively explored under-story ecological planting models. They have built 1000 acres of under-story planting demonstration bases for trident bitter, 300 acres of under-story planting demonstration bases for grass and coral, and 1009 acres of "one field, one product" oil tea forest intercropping for winter. They have simultaneously promoted the multi-modal development of forest poultry, forest livestock, and other industries. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, it is planned to develop 20000 acres of under-story economy with a total output value of 150 million yuan.
